1. Theory and phenomenology of the instanton vacuum in QCD;
2. Chiral Quark-Soliton Model of baryons;
3. Mechanisms of colour confinement;
4. Formulation of the Yang--Mills theory in terms of dual gauge invariant variables;

These birds illustrate GAUGE INVARIANCE -- the main principle on which all fundamental
interactions are based ! The birds are not killed by high voltage as long as they don't touch
two wires simultaneously. Only the difference of electric potentials is observable.
