On the possibility to measure the EDM of proton and deutron at the storage rings

 

A discovery of the Electric Dipole Moments (EDMs) of elementary particles at the level above Standard Model's predictions would be a clear evidence of significant CP-violation, which is needed for explanation of the apparent matter-antimatter asymmetry of our universe. At present, experiments on measuring of proton's and deuteron's EDMs at storage rings with lower limit of 10E-29 e*cm are under preparation in BNL and FZ-Juelich. This talk is prepared as an outcome of WE-Heraeus-Seminar: "Search for Electric Dipole Moments (EDMs) at Storage Rings"
